About Us
The Exeter Spitfires were first formed in 2000
and took their name from the Polish Spitfire squadon based in the city during World War 2. However Exeter's contribution to baseball streches all the way back to 1824 and the birth of Henry Chadwick, who would later go on to become one of baseball's greatest pioneers and earn a spot in baseball's hall of fame.

The Exeter Spitfires were formed in 2000 and then closed and relaunched in 2012, when there was enough interest to re-start the Southwest Baseball League, and have continually improved the results and league standings, culminating in being Southern Division Champions in 2017, This success continued into 2018 and we were crowned SWBL champions in September, having lost only match all season, and beating Taunton down at Plymouths purposed built diamond in Central Park.
